The first time we did Aruba we also had no plans, and Carnival was selling tickets for the "banana bus" right outside the ship for people looking for last minute ideas. It was $15 per person I think, billed to your sail and sign account. Literally a school bus painted crazy with a huge banana on top. Took us right to the beach for a few hours then back to the ship. Doing that then a local dinner/drinks/night life could be fun!!
